What charms are actually for
Start with what they do not do
A charm improves no reading, protects nothing, adds no function. It does not change how the device is held and it does not replace a band. It is a decorative object, and claiming otherwise would be dishonest.
What they do
They make a technical object personal. A WHOOP is a black, screenless device, identical on everyone's wrist. A charm is the smallest possible intervention that stops it being interchangeable.
The detail that matters: they go on and come off in seconds, without tools. So you are not deciding once and for all. A flag for a match, a chilli for an evening, nothing at all for a meeting.
How they hold
The charm slides onto the strap and locks with a press. It sits flat against the weave, not proud of it: it does not catch in a sleeve and does not get in the way during a session, racket sports included.
The strap takes three in a row without distorting. Beyond that the tension starts to show and comfort suffers.
Which band
Ours as well as the one that came with your WHOOP 5.0 or MG. That is what makes a charm a good first purchase: you do not need to change band to use one.
One or three
A single charm reads as a detail, and it is the most discreet setting. Three in a row become a pattern, which is a firm aesthetic choice and much more visible. Both work, but two charms spaced at random rarely produce anything good.
The collection
Fifty references at €14.90 each, in two families: the flags, and the objects — sport, coffee, travel, money, animals. The full collection brings them together.
The ones that travel best are read without being explained: the evil eye, a flag you happen to answer to, the football. The bitcoin and the rising line say something more specific, which is rather the point of wearing them.
